McDonald’s

Opening in early 2019, McDonald’s was the first major commercial operator to open in the new Yaldhurst Park.

McDonald’s Restaurants (NZ) Ltd National Real Estate Manager Warwick Stevens says the attraction of Yaldhurst was all about the location.

“For any new restaurant, we don’t so much look at the total sales as the new sales. At the time, we forecast about 85% of the new sales we would do would come from passing traffic.”

“We also started with a view to what would be happening in the area in the future, as the development happened around us – in 2018, there were 35,000 people living in a three and a half kilometre radius of us.”

“We also looked at attractions like the football club, as a great opportunity to pick up weekend sales.”

Warwick says since opening the restaurant has experienced a 5-6% year-on-year growth in sales.

Having also worked with Yaldhurst Park developers Infinity for the establishment of McDonald’s Ravenswood Warwick says the organisation is very easy to deal with.

“They perform too – if they say they’re going to do something, they do it.”
